Greetings from the Galyean Family
Eddie, Barbara, and Heidi
“A Missionary Journey to the Philippines”

Hello Everyone!

We flew out on September 11 and safely arrived back in the Philippines on September 12. We enjoyed the opportunity to meet some new pastors, visit with our families, and spend a couple of weeks at our home church. The attempt to clean out our storage unit was successful. It was a little disheartening to part with many of our things, but it will be nice to use the proceeds for some of the items we need here.
The work here in the Philippines did great during the two months we were in the States. The attendance held steady and there were some new faces when we returned. The church averaged over 60 salvations per week, and many were baptized. I was thrilled to know the people served the Lord faithfully in our absence.
I am excited about getting back to work here. This year will be coming to a close in just a few short months, but we plan to take advantage of the time we have and finish 2006 in style. There are many projects, plans, and ideas to which I plan to give my time and energy. I will list some of them for you and trust that you will join us in prayer.

Facility Decisions

We have been meeting for 2 years in a 1,200 square foot building. We have a small nursery and an even smaller room for our staff workers. Presently, we use the porch of a neighbor’s house for teen SS and have two 10x10 tents for the children. The facilities are packed every week and there is an overload on our restroom to which one must travel through the back of the auditorium. If the Lord leads, I feel we need to make some changes in order to maintain the growth which we have enjoyed. Land is very expensive, so renting a bigger place is probably our only choice. Building is very cost effective, but that doesn’t seem feasible at this time either. I am cautious to move the church very far because of the impact we have made in the local community and the number of folks who walk to church. Please pray that the Lord will have His perfect will in this matter.

Bible School
There are 10 students presently studying in our Bible School. We will be adding some practical classes like Introductory Music and Conversational English. Please pray that God will bless our young people and help them as they prepare to serve the Lord.

Extension Ministries
Our people are currently holding 8 extension Sunday schools all over the city. Many have been saved and the Lord allows us to teach the Bible to hundreds each week in their own villages. I will be recruiting workers and teachers to try and expand this ministry a little by the end of the year. I feel we should have 15 classes running and could possibly have a weekly attendance of 1,000. One great thing about the Philippines is that we are permitted to hold these classes almost anywhere we find people. It is an unique opportunity and a very cost effective way of reaching people.

Gabriel Goar
Many of you know that 3 young men accompanied me during the inception of this ministry. Two of the young men from our home church stayed nearly a year and a half and were instrumental in getting this work off the ground. Gabe Goar is another young man who has returned to the Philippines with us. He was previously on staff at our home church and has been on each of our evangelistic teams for the last 5 years. He has returned at his own expense for a longer stay this time to work in the ministry here. Please pray that God will mold him and use him while he is in the Philippines.

God has been so gracious to us here. He has blessed the work tremendously and meets our needs so faithfully. It is hard for us to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of you who support the ministry and stand behind us with your prayers. We could not do it without you. Thank you!

May God bless you as you also continue to serve Him in the final quarter of 2006.

Sincerely,
Eddie R. Galyean
