“A Missionary Journey to the Philippines”

March 5, 2006

Mabuhay Pilipinas! Greetings from the Philippines. 2006 is already proving to be another year where God is doing wonderful things here in Urdaneta City. Many folks are being saved weekly and lives are being changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our family is doing well and we are excited to be serving the Lord here. Below you will find the highlights of some of the things that are happening and the projects on which we are working.
.
Building Improvements
The folks here gave nearly seven hundred dollars for building improvements in our Happy Birthday Jesus offering. We were able to enclose the extension on our building, hang some beautiful wooden doors, and paint the building inside and out. I often tell the people here that this church is their responsibility, not the Americans. It is exciting to see them giving sacrificially because they love the Lord. Pictures will soon be added to our website.

Randall Clores
My wife led a family to the Lord just before Christmas who are now very faithful. Arman and Cookie have 7 children. Mom, Dad, and the 5 children who are old enough to be saved were all baptized recently. Randall is 18 years old and is severely crippled. He was prescribed the wrong medicine when he was three weeks old and now suffers from cerebral palsy. Three men helped me baptize him and it was a thrill. Randall told my wife that he wanted to serve the Lord so she challenged him to be a prayer warrior. Now he asks me every week for my prayer request and for the names of pastors and missionaries for whom he can pray. He also had someone help him make a list of 37 family members for whom he is praying to be saved. That’s what it’s all about!

Two Year Anniversary
We have to be back in the states for a few weeks to attend the wedding of my wife’s sister in July. So, we are making plans to celebrate our 2nd anniversary a few weeks early during the week of June 25. I have secured a 600 seat auditorium for our adult service and the mayor has allowed me to use the cultural center gymnasium for our children’s service. We are expecting great things from God.

Pastor Brown will be coming from ECBC to preach and the folks here are excited to meet the man who sent us to Urdaneta. As many of you know, Pastor Brown’s health is not well and traveling is very hard on him. Please pray that God will help him during this time. Pray for his health, and of course, God’s power to fall.

Our folks have become very busy since these plans were made final. Our music groups are starting to work overtime. The people are bringing rice to every service to give to our anniversary guests, and also, candy for the children’s services. It’s so exciting to see these people, many of whom have been saved since we came here, getting excited about bringing people to Christ. Praise the Lord!

Let’s Go Soulwinning
I am teaching soulwinning on Wednesday nights and offering a certificate of completion to anyone who attends all the classes. So far, we have over 60 who have managed perfect attendance. By the grace of God, we will have over 50 new soulwinners trained and ready to go by the end of April.

I want to take just a moment and express our gratitude for all your prayers and support. God is working here and you are laying up treasures in heaven. On behalf of those here that you may never meet, THANK YOU!

Sincerely,
Eddie R. Galyean
