Greetings from the Galyean Family
Eddie, Barbara, and Heidi
“A Missionary Journey to the Philippines”

Dear Friends,

Greetings from the Philippines! I cannot remember a time when the ministry here has enjoyed such momentum as it has right now. It seems like every month this year just keeps getting better and better. People are being saved, lives are being changed, and the attendance is growing steadily. It’s a joy to be a part of the work of God and see Him working in a such a marvelous way. We know it’s the hand of the Lord blessing because of the soulwinning here and the prayers and support of you friends at home. Thank you so much and it’s good to be a part of the team.
Here are some highlights of what’s happening on our side of the pond:

Record Breaking Weeks
In our last letter, I told you that we were having record breaking weeks. Well, the same is still true. The extension Sunday schools are maintaining over 1,000 in attendance while the main service is growing as well. Two weeks ago we topped out at 316! And last week we stayed at 279 even in the midst of a small tropical storm. The Lord is good! The soulwinning efforts are steady and we are averaging over 100 saved every week.
Please pray that God will give us direction and finances as we decide how to best organize the recent growth. The building is packed and jammed now and we must make some moves soon. We have looked at some properties to rent, but so far none has been close to fitting the budget. We have seriously considered building a small balcony, but are still waiting for a clear direction. Another option is to go to multiple services and maybe have one in English and the other in Filipino. Please just pray that God will have His way.

Third Anniversary
The third anniversary is only one month away. Please pray that God will give us a great harvest on August 12. We had 656 on the first anniversary, 2,211 last year, and if the weather permits we may be able to top that this year. Last year we had 2 services, one for the children and our regular main service. This year, we will be using several facilities and having multiple services for the children along with our main service. Pastor Arlyn Walters of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Cedar Lake, IN has been a long time friend of this ministry. He will be preaching during the anniversary and will be bringing his wife, three children, and a couple of men from his church. Our theme is “Faith is the Victory” and we are looking forward to the victory God will give us.

Changed Lives
The Philippines is a land of idolatry. The people here are “religious,” but the value of religion is very low. They know very little about the Bible and are considered devout if they attend church a couple of times a year. This makes training them a big challenge as we have to teach them to break the traditions of the land and assign a higher value to God. I recently started a Basic Bible Doctrines class and have over 150 attending.

Mr. & Mrs. Plata started coming but he did not believe Jesus was God and she had many idols. After my lesson called “Who is Jesus?” Mr. Plata was saved. That week I was able to win his wife to the Lord and she took down all the idols and closed her business on Sundays. Last week I taught on “Bible Baptism” and they were both baptized along with 10 others who have been putting off the decision. God is good!

Well, that’s all for now. I will look forward to giving you an anniversary report in our next letter. Your prayers and support mean more to us than we can ever express. May God Bless you all.

Until next time,
Eddie R. Galyean
