Two Year Anniversary Report
Greetings from the Philippines!
It was a real blessing to have Pastor Chris Brown here for
our second anniversary on June 25. Our anniversary festivities
included a small parade throughout the city, a special service
for the children, and the main preaching service for the adults.
God gave us 2,211 in attendance. Praise the Lord! There were
59 adults saved in the main preaching service and hundreds
more in the childrens service. We capped off the day
with a victory service and fellowship in the evening.
Our people here sacrificed and worked harder than ever. I
challenged them to bring rice to every service for 2 months
so that we could give a kilo of rice to every family who visited
for the anniversary. We collected over 500 kilos. I also challenged
them to bring some small pieces of candy to be given to the
children who would attend. The people gave over 12,000 candies
which were divided and distributed. It is certainly exciting
to see the people learning the joy of giving.
We have not been able to provide transportation for our regular
services, but I asked for volunteers who would be willing
to run jeepneys for the anniversary. Over 40 people volunteered.
We were able to spread out all over the city and even to some
neighboring villages.
Filipinos are known for being shy and timid.
One of the real joys here is seeing them grow and mature as
they realize they can be used by God. Many of them were involved
in the anniversary preparation, but expressed doubt in their
personal abilities to be successful. It was nice to hear them
after the anniversary as they were smiling and exchanging
stories about what happened in their areas. And many of them
were chatting about how much more they would try to do next
year. God is so good.
Quick Trip To The States
Our round trip tickets are about to expire and my wifes
youngest sister will be getting married in July. We also need
desperately to go through our storage unit in Virginia Beach.
We planned on being in the Philippines for less than a year.
That was three years ago. So, we will head to the Sates for
a few weeks on July 3 and try to be back here by September.
I have scheduled guest preachers for each of the Sundays I
will be gone and one of our staff men will be teaching on
Wednesday nights.
As always, we thank you for all your prayers and support
in the ministry here. God has done wonderful things. We are
always mindful of our indebtedness to those who help the work.
May God bless everyone of you for your faithfulness.
Sincerely,
Eddie R. Galyean
